The Colour Line was created for teletaxi, a locative media exhibition in a taxi cab presented in Montreal and Toronto by Year Zero One.  Taxi passengers experienced artworks on a touch screen while the cab moved through the city. Equipped with a computer and GPS, teletaxi streamed location information that triggered site-specific media artworks.

The Colour Line told the story of  rue de la Montagne and Saint-Antoine, a historic Black geography affectionately dubbed, The Corner.  Three vibrant Black jazz clubs were located here in the heyday of  Montreal’s rise to importance as a centre of jazz in the 40’s and 50’s.  Nearby, a plaque at the rear entrance of the Windsor train station commemorates the struggle of Black sleeping car porters for civil rights.
